January is a new year, a new season and a new month—so let’s ring it in with a new theme, quote, book and project—as well as renewed resolve and enthusiasm. And, speaking of resolve—let’s resolve to listening better to the people we love. This will surely lead to better questions and better questions always uncover new stories. So, In person or via technology, open your ears this month and hear with curiosity, love and laughter!

Hue & Me
In 2024 Hue & Me will be a combination of two, three, four or five hues, so that we can learn more about why and how colors work together—and practice using them successfully. Generally, we want to use color in unequal proportions, where one color is used predominantly and other are used colors less and as accents.
The Pantone color of the year—Peach Fuzz—is featured in our first, 3-color combination I’m calling Peachy Keen. Paired with a deep red wine and a muted raspberry red, your challenge is to use these three colors well on a page or card.

Design Inspired
Now is the ideal time to try on something new in your crafting and storytelling—you could play with paint, creatively edit or crop photos, stitch a title, use your handwriting, or try any other technique, approach or style. I love how Sally Ann Langley committed to “painting rocks” over and over and over again, pushing her creativity and developing and refining her skills.

The 2024 Pantone Color of the Year is a call for closeness and connection. It is a warm pinkish-orange that easily bridges the gap between youthful and timeless and embodies both sharing and caring. Where will you find and photograph Peach Fuzz?
