Stacy asked some thought provoking questions and we had a productive session that clearly showed that the topic of memorabilia creates different ideas and approaches from everyone! Stacy’s Questions: What’s a really cool piece of memorabilia you have? Why do we even want to keep memorabilia? How easy it for you to include memorabilia in your scrapbooking and story telling? What do you wish would be easier? What do you wish you were doing more of, when it comes to memorabilia? If you have asked yourself any of these questions, you will most certainly want to visit the replay of this WWW session to help inspire YOU! We don’t always have a fine tuned or specific workflow for memorabilia because we aren’t always visiting it, like we do our photo libraries. This creates less of an automatic workflow. But there is ALWAYS good things to do — even if we’re not always consistent. Special things come through in memorabilia — so much evidence that’s not as easily captured in a photographs, so we NEED it. Your approach will adapt and change Over time you gain or shift perspective of what matters and what doesn’t. What you're willing to keep and what you’re ready to let go of may evolve. As you work through this you will often revisit your memorabilia and be able to continue to curate so that you ultimately have an accessible collection that’s easy to enjoy. Use a digital approach Not only can you scan large documents and artwork to keep in your digital library, Stacy demonstrated that you can use the caption field of your photo’s meta-data to record when you have a specific piece of memorabilia you want to include with the photo, when you’re ready to tell a story. If a piece of memorabilia were a photo in your digital library and it would receive a ❤️ than you should be including it in your story telling.
