Our seasonal theme of listening takes new shape in February as we practice intentional listening in everyday places like work, church, a restaurant, the rec center, the hair salon or in the aisles of your local grocery store. I’m looking forward to recognizing how what I’m hearing informs my thoughts, mood and actions. In one such location I’m issuing the challenge that you linger long enough to not only hear surrounding sounds but to also describe them with words.
We’re also hosting our middle month contest, which is your opportunity to create a homemade Valentine using our Hue & Me color combination. After you post a picture to our Facebook group, we’ll enter your name in a drawing for Happy Mail. Contest deadline is 2.29.24 ❤️

Hue & Me
I remember a pre-teen day in my life when after a fight with my brother, my mother sat us both down and said, “Now you’ll each say three things you love about the other and share a hug.” I also remember that it worked. I did and do love my brother and I learned that day the power of interrupting tension to talk about what is right with your opponent.
Our February color combination is called, Love at Home and I really like its two blues and a raspberry leaning red. I find symbolism in the proportion of cool to warm, where just a little love can push back on and even balance the mood at home.

Just imagine how often the universally loved and familiar emblem of a HEART is used in our world. For FUN, you might try counting how many hearts you’ve used on pages in one or more of your albums. This symbol with its two scallops and V-shaped point has seemingly infinite iterations going back centuries.
If you participated with the Project24 scavenger hunt, this might be the month to include your heart in one of your stories.
