March 2023

March on!

March is the month we celebrate brilliant, brave and strong women in history. Who are the women that have influenced your personal history? March is Nutrition Month, focused on helping people make better food choices, which most likely includes eating more greens—AND—Oh, hello GREEN! Our Hue & Me for March is Spring Green—a color definitely associated with LUCKY things, from trapping green-clad leprechauns, to searching for that elusive 4-leaf clover. I’m curious what luck means to you? In fact, as we continue our exploration of emotions, I encourage you to think about when and why you’ve felt lucky in your life. What are the emotions you feel when “lucky” is how you describe a particular moment, experience or memory?

So much to do in March, let’s go!

I feel ☘️ LUCKY to count YOU as a fellow traveler on this journey to living and telling authentic stories. IF you have questions about anything planned, or comments/ideas to share, please post to the Disqus comments section at the bottom of this page OR send me an email. I LOVE hearing from you!

Hue & Me

Spring green is named for the color of new growth in a large number of plants and trees—so it also represents and inspires new growth and change in us—perhaps even a beginners mind, which is open to learning as well as correction. We want our earth to thrive, so green is often used on eco-friendly or organic products. But green as you know can have a less desirable side as well. Since the Middle Ages, this is the color 🤢 that we often associate with being sick or pale. It was actually Shakespeare who wrote of the green-eyed monster that Brené is teaching us about in our seasonal book!

What will you make Spring Green mean?

Design Inspired

Notice the color that introduces Chapter 11, Places We Go When Life Is Good, in Atlas of the Heart. We know that Vincent Van Gogh painted what he was feeling and that is why I’ve chosen this image for our Design Inspired in March. Can you sense the joy, tranquility, gratitude and hope that he felt as he crafted his Vase with Pink Roses? What photos, words and colors might you pull together to convey a sense of deep contentment?

Story Process

Navigation Pages communicate a wonderful sense of order and finality. Let’s make one together and give our growing albums some attention this month. Print the Album Care Checklist HERE!

My story topic this month is Food & FUN!
Watch this 12x12 single page story with a 6x12 Flip Flap—all about Japchae come together.
You can purchase a Story Deck HERE or HERE!

I chose our Page Prompt this month because of the emotional power of music. What “radio” tune, kid or camp song, anthem, ballad or hymn might help you tell a story? Grab some lyrics and let them speak for you—OR—just put the music on and dance while you do the dishes this month!
