November 2023
Let’s be home in November
The holidays are officially upon us once again and this time of year can definitely feel busy, so how will we practice principles of Hygge to create time and space that feels unhurried? How can we be more productive without more pressure? What will be the calm to push back on the chaos?
Of course there will be reasons to go, see and do—so how can we be at home without always staying there?

Hue & Me
If color is the designer’s language of emotive expression then does gray have anything to say?
Turns out it does!
Just because gray doesn’t yell and scream or grab your attention doesn’t mean it can’t be a trusted friend—in fact, Gray is that companion that listens and quietly supports. Gray can be warm or cool—but either way it allows other colors to speak freely and gray is adept at negotiating intensity. As it talks other colors down, it brings a sense of calm to its surroundings, so everyone can play together nicely

🩶 CONTEST TIME: In November we are hosting a contest and gray is the guest of honor. Create a page and post it to our Facebook group by December 30th, for a chance to win Happy Mail from Stacy. I’ll announce a winner at our January 2024 New Month Meet-up!
Design Inspired
You’re invited in November to be inspired by maker, illustrator and collage artist, Clare Youngs and more specifically to try your hand at some paper piecing.
We all have scraps—let’s plan to use them in a new, inventive way on a tag, card, page or planner!
Love Your Library Video
If you’re following along or checking in with content in Photo Freedom this year, we are in Week 9, Library of Memories—and I’m sharing thoughts about back-up, focusing on freedom and taking care of one album at a time!
Story Process Videos
I am excited to again to be joined by Wendy Potts as she shares her story process using the same cards of Special Days, Stamps, One Word Title and Mix It Up. Wendy is a CTMH Maker, so be prepared for her many ingenious tips & tricks!
I am SO proud of member, Nancy Frazier who has also created a Story Process video for us. Huge shout out to her for not shying away from the technology required to share her process with us. AND, I love the words she documented for her grandson for his sixteenth birthday!
Podcast
This month I’m joined by Machelle Willing and Melissa Burnett for a conversation about productivity at home and around the holidays—especially as it applies to memory keeping. ENJOY!

I had a thought the other day. If Gretchen Rubin and Meik Wiking collaborated, we might have a book titled, Home in Five Senses—this month as you productively make plans and preparations, I invite you to intentionally create sights, sounds and smells that without words, say, “There’s No Place Like Home!”
