Workflow (part 2)
Welcome to Week 7. We are officially on the downhill side of our first twelve weeks together and this one is a doozy—but it’s going to be so much FUN.
Our video this week is quite LONG (almost 45 minutes 😳) so you might want to break it up—remember you can use the chapter markers to jump ahead, go back or simply watch in short spurts—may I suggest a celebratory bowl of popcorn too 🍿
Week 7 Tasks
Print the workflow tool and begin to fill it in for February and March 2021. Test it out with your developing workflow and decide if and how you will use it.
Decide how you will use organizational tools (albums, folders and smart albums/collections) in your chosen photo application.
Finalize your backup plan and take the backup pledge at worldbackupday.com with a deadline of March 31, 2021.
(Optional) Learn about Workflow Images (details in the video) and determine if they would be helpful to you. Note: Download images from the gallery!
(Optional) Use the Image Tracker for the month of March to do some personal research about your picture-taking and workflow habits.
“Workflow is understanding your job, understanding your tools, and then not thinking about it anymore. ”
Plan 📋
A plan is most successful when it is applied to a designated amount of time and set to accomplish a declared definition of success. In photo management, the planning steps of workflow anticipate what is just ahead, intentionally track picture-taking and make notes as life unfolds.
Prioritize 🗑🤍🪄🏷
As you continue practicing the individual tasks of deleting, favoriting, editing and tagging you will gain access to your best images and will be able to respond when inspiration strikes!
Share 🤗
With a trusted workflow, your Library of Memories system will support you in all kinds of sharing. Actively living with and sharing photos is happy medicine!
Printing Solutions 📷
In addition to other pages and projects you create, I am recommending two printing solutions designed to help you archive pictures in fun, interactive ways. Dedicate time this week to learning about Persnickety Box and Chatbooks and decide if and how you can incorporate them into your ongoing workflow.
NOTE: Chari Pack, founder of Persnickety Prints has a passion for leaving a legacy with archival prints. She was recently named one of the first class of 250 standout start ups in the Next 1000 by Forbes magazine. Also, you might want to RSVP to the March 7th Event on the Persnickety Facebook Page. I have a feeling you’ll get to learn much more about Persnickety Box! YOU can save 50% off your first box with code: freedom
You might also want to check out these white (and blue) 4” x 4” albums designed to hold 30 Persnickety Box prints!
I’m not sure how informational the above video is, but it’s hilarious. Whether you opt for a Chatbooks subscription or just use them for one-off photo books, their products are accessible, affordable and kid-friendly. Decide this week if making them a part of your ongoing workflow makes sense for you!
Backing Up ☁️
March 31st is World Backup Day. This means it’s time for YOU to determine your personal and ongoing backup plan. The video below is referenced in our handout this week.
