Revising your Plot…

The story we tell ourselves about ourselves is absolutely critical. It becomes the lens through which we see and understand our worth, our abilities and potential, our relationships and our future. Revisions to plot are always available and a new, fresh perspective can change everything! In September, we wrap up our focus on plot, especially as it relates to personal storytelling, so I’m inviting you to consider new information AND with audacity to decide how your story will end!

New Month Meet-Up: Tuesday, September 2nd at 1PM PT, Watch Replay HERE
Welcome to the month of apple-picking, potato harvesting, sewing and happy cats. It’s also friendship month, so I’m thrilled you’re here with me, committed to doing something with some of your photos. Come watch live—or wherever it’s convenient for you—and I’ll fill you in on plans for our travel album project, live sessions and all the other dates and details you’ll need!

Do It Together: Friday, September 5th at 10AM PT, Replay HERE and Recap HERE
We are meeting early in the month to write the final paragraph in our life stories and to gather and document visual evidence for the beautiful way in which the story—your story will conclude. Did you know you can decide this now—let’s do it together!

Let’s tidy up our school-related photos. We’ll gather to search and do keyword work so that we can delete and favorite, add details and make or adjust storytelling plans.

2nd Saturday Saturday, September 13th from 10AM PT to 2PM PT, JOIN HERE
Bring whatever project you’re up to and we’ll work in the same virtual space for some productive fun and friendship. You don’t need to be on time. Pop in for 10 minutes, two hours or more! Remarkably Bright Creatures is our book club read and what a unique story and group of characters—including Marcellus, the local octopus! Finish up reading and join us for what is surely to be a lively conversation.

Why do we associate apples with school and teachers?

“A is for Apple” but the reason apples often symbolize education and our appreciation for teachers goes back to early rural communities where families would give the local teacher baskets of apples and other produce as payment for their children’s education.

Apple red is crisp, classic, bold and energetic—associated with luxury, attractiveness and deliciousness. From iconic Red Vines licorice twists to the fastest Ferrari sport cars, red wins the day. So, For the Teacher or for your next story, red is the obvious choice!

🍎 Six Stories in Six Words 🍎

At the end of July, in our Story Coaching session I committed YOU to telling SIX additional stories—each with a SIX word summary—before the end of this year. You can download a FUN story tracker for this effort HERE. I’m inviting you to bring one of these stories to our Story Coaching session at the end of the month. I can’t wait to see and share!

Sketch This

With good stories the end often drives the beginning and middle, not the other way around.

This sketch will support our September writing prompt, by giving you room—front and center—to write a paragraph of journaling. Circles can highlight a few photos that illustrate your conclusion!

You could also use a large photo—back with color and texture, and add journaling to smaller layer or flap!

Working On Video

I love the concept of an index album and in August I was working on THREE of them!

This 2025 series is simply me involving you as I ‘work on’ a variety of memory-related efforts.
Back in January I set an intention to organize my collection of jewelry—with the idea of photographing some of my favorite pieces and documenting them in some way. This video highlights my process!
