January News!
Happy NEW Year 🎉 and welcome to January!
Did you know there is something called a Fresh Start Effect that generates an extra dose of motivation at the beginning of a new week, month, season or year. Turns out we stand at the brink of all four, so we can in coming days and weeks expect and anticipate great things!
Our brains love new beginnings for two reasons. First, we can more easily separate our current selves from our past selves, which creates mental distance between less desirable habits and behaviors and what we want for the future—this clean slate feeling is highly motivating! Second, transitions allow us to step back and see the bigger picture. By putting things in perspective we are more able to focus on big goals and break them down into daily actionable steps.
I believe it. And, I know that the simple act of planning to take an action increases the likelihood that I will take action. This is why I love creating our monthly calendar and content. I hope that you find motivating inspiration here that you can use as you live and tell your story.
Bring on 2023. I’m ready!
