I am elated. I am also a little sick to my stomach—in the BEST way possible. You see, I’ve swallowed so much anticipation for this new space and for the good things that I know will happen here, that I’m just about to burst with anxious excitement.

In 1963, Harvey Ball, a graphic designer, was commissioned by an insurance company to create an image that would boost employee morale. He drew up the now iconic smiley face and was paid $45.
