Let’s bring this story home!

‘Bring it home’ is a phrase that relates to theme in storytelling. It can be defined as clearly communicating an idea—OR—concluding a project in a successful way. This month let’s see if we can do both … let’s consider the messages of individual and unique stories we each set into motion—AND—let’s celebrate our collective connection in this effort to live life with stories in mind.
Together we can add to and wrap up our time together in a meaningful way!

Our 4-hour ‘get it done’ session falls on Hot Cocoa Day this year, so bring a mug and hang out with us. You can create, wrap gifts or just chat with friends. Now is the time to focus on the merriment of the holidays, but do mark your calendar for this FUN event in January. We’ll gather to playfully reminisce and celebrate together. Yes, it will be a good-bye, but it will also be a good time!

Hue & Me

Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker ballet, set on Christmas Eve has become an enduring and iconic symbol of the holiday season and its message is beautifully communicated in our December color combination.

When you bring together pink and lavender with a deep magenta and dark blue you set the stage for a magical triumph of good over evil and a journey from the ordinary into the fantastical realm of dreams. These hues capture a child’s power of imagination, which can often see clearly and beyond the appearances that give adults pause. In December embrace a youthful magic, enjoy lots of uplifting music and encourage goodness and generosity with your creating and your influence!

🧡 Six Stories in Six Words 🧡

At the end of July, in our Story Coaching session I committed YOU to telling SIX additional stories—each with a SIX word summary—before the end of this year. I’ve extended this challenge into January! You have MORE time, so be sure to download your story tracker for this effort HERE. Post completed pages to Facebook to be entered into a final ‘Happy Mail’ drawing during our final Story Coaching session on January 14th.

Sketch This

Our December sketch will allow us to gather up to seven photos of an honored holiday tradition for the purpose of comparing and contrasting. Such a page will be a FUN addition to any album!

Story Process Video

My story this month is a current one, which is unusual for me, but I couldn’t resist. The best part? It’s a story and a 12x12 design that you’ll be able to adapt to a group chat in your life!

My wish and hope for YOU—and for me is that we will choose to pause each day in December and notice. Perhaps we’ll recognize a person to encourage. Maybe we’ll be prompted to reach out to someone, just because. We might pause to look closely at a beautiful decoration or to better hear a familiar and favorite song. Whether it’s a chance to savor a warm drink or share a moment with a neighbor, I know we can create space to give and receive in simple and satisfying ways.
