Friday FAVS for 10.26.18

I haven’t done a Friday FIVE in a long time. This is because I do NOT have FIVE items to share. As I contemplated this problem I decided it could be easily remedied by changing the name of the post from Friday FIVE to Friday FAVS. Can I just tell you how much I love EASY, but not always obvious solutions like this one?

ONE. Davina Wellness
I haven’t done much with essential oils until recently when the marketing team at Davina Wellness reached out to me and asked if I would like to try some of their product. Um, YES! They promptly sent me three different oils and THIS SUPER COOL tour diffuser for my van. I tried to get a photo that showed the yummy little stream of cinnamon smelling goodness, but I couldn’t do it. Trust me though, its there and its YUMMY.

Now when I get in my van, the first thing I do is turn on my diffuser. It makes me HAPPY. To date, cinnamon bark is my favorite oil, but liquid sunshine is a close second (think citrus + vanilla) and I can’t wait to start using the balsam fir which I’m saving for Christmas. Speaking of Christmas, this might be one of those gifts you could give to the person that has everything! All you have to do is plug it into one of your console ports, add water and a few drops of essential oil. If you don’t want it diffusing non-stop you can use the intermittent option where you get a burst of YUM every 20 seconds. When I run out of water I add a little more from my water bottle. Brilliant.

TWO. Dear Girl
I don’t remember how I first bumped into Amy Krouse Rosenthal, but you might remember a super cool class that Cathy Zielske taught way back in the early BPC days, called ME: The Abridged Version. Yes? Well, that class was inspired by Amy’s book, Encylopedia of an Ordinary Life—which def makes my FAVS list. But, what I want to share with you now is Amy’s book, Dear Girl. THIS BOOK. Is so awesome. I adore every single page because every single page is a message I believe in and am trying to pass on to my daughter, Addie. As I was writing this post, I decided to stop and make a recording of me reading it. Just for FUN (and maybe for Addie)
Here it is …

Dear Girl was written by Amy and her daughter, Paris—very near the end of Amy’s life. Sadly she passed away in March of 2017 due to ovarian cancer. I LOVE that Amy listened to her brave side, because we still have access to her words, wit and wisdom. Thank goodness! ❤️

THREE. JOJO’s Dark Chocolate Bark

Front_Bark_Bag_600x600.jpg

The only way I know about this amazing chocolate is because it showed up at my local Costco. My family is attempting to lower our overall carb intake and these delicious bars are a pretty good option at 8 net grams of carbohydrate each—and they have 5 grams of protein to boot. I wrapped each bar in plastic wrap and dropped them in the lunch/snack bin in our pantry. I also let everyone know that these are a once a day treat! The name comes from Jojo, the woman, who after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 began working to perfect her own (healthier) version of a chocolate bar that would satisfy her intense cravings for something sweet. You an also buy these on Amazon, but they are definitely less expensive at Costco!

And, that’s about it for today except that I bought me a new pair of TOMS last night. If you’re new to TOMS, you can use this referral link to save yourself $20. TOMS are still one of my absolute FAVS and I’m crossing my fingers that these shoe boots arrive before I leave next Wednesday to teach at 📍the Pinner’s Conference.

Happy Friday!

Full disclosure: When I link to Amazon I often create an affiliate link!
