I got a C+ in Physics

I’ve seen memes and T-shirts and Pinterest boards dedicated to the idea of embracing imperfection, but in today’s episode I want to take you one step further and invite you to practice imperfection. Yes, there is a difference. This is not just permission to make mistakes, but intentionally aiming a little lower in the first place, so that we can do what we need to do and move forward with a healthier and more realistic expectation for growth and improvement over time.

I will share a personal experience—you guessed it—from college Physics and remind you what grades really are (not very important) and also what really matters on our final report card. Hint: A 13-letter word, starting with R and endings with SHIPS.

My life coach, Jody Moore teaches this principle in Episode 123 of her podcast, Better Than Happy. Learn more about Jody and her work and coaching program HERE.

If you’re a scrapbooker, here’s evidence that I do in fact practice imperfection—I’m forever cutting a little bit of cardstock out to cover up a mistake. Try it sometime—this page and so many others bring back happy memories of moving forward “in spite of” and that’s a happy and productive thing to do!
