Project Play Date
April 2023

Follow up from New Month Meet-Up!

Before I share a RECAP of our Project Play Date, I want to catch you up on some exciting happenings and changes. Let’s start with last week’s New Month Meet-Up! In case you haven’t heard, we are CELEBRATING!

April is our birthday month and begins the second year of Live Your Story, so this meet up was a PARTY!

Stacy introduced several updates and changes, so you’ll definitely want to watch the full replay on YouTube.

  • The Get Involved Page

I want to highlight an exciting new page or section of Live Your Story called Get Involved! Look for it next time you log in.

Live Your Story is a community, not just another online course. This means we need YOU, your thoughts, your perspective, your presenceβ€”your contribution!

One of the opportunities on the Get Involved page is a new approach to our Private Podcast just for the Live Your Story Community. LYS members will receive a monthly question/prompt to think about. You can then record a short audio message (ie. short personal story or experience) using the SpeakPipe button on each monthly page. Stacy will compile the messages she receives and publish them as a podcast on the last Thursday of every month. Be sure to include your name and where you’re from when leaving an audio message!

April’s πŸŽ‰ QUESTION: Tell me about an extra playful celebration that you planned or participated in. What made this experience special for you? Deadline for submission is Tuesday, April 18th πŸŽ™οΈ

  • Project Play Dates

The monthly Project Play Date will now coincide with our Seasonal Project!

The first month of each season will be about preparation, the second month we will share our progress and the third will be about wrapping up and sharing with each other.

Community member, Linda, suggested the three steps in this process could be Prepare, Progress & Party! During the live Play Date, Stacy put it to a voteβ€”whether the last month should be Party, Presentation or BOTH. The results, drum roll please… the majority voted for a combination of both, so in June we will have a Presentation Party for sharing our Seasonal Project’s video montages. We can’t wait to see what you all create!

Preparations: Video Montage

This season’s project is an Everyday Life Right Now Video Montage. You can view and print out the handout for this season HERE.

Spend this month preparing and gathering your thoughts and ideas of the montage you want to create. We had some great ideas and suggestions during our live session.

  • Daily routines

  • Kids’ sporting events

  • A family move to a new state

  • Camping trip

  • Spring Break

Also during the session, Stacy recommend creating a checklistβ€”specific shots or video clipsβ€”to get as you film content. She will be compiling a checklist that you can download, print and add to. Watch for this on the SPRING 2023 page.

LYS Member Spotlight

Going forward we will have a Google Form for LYS Member Spotlight submissions. This can be found under the Get Involved tab when logged in.

We invite YOU to take a quick moment to fill this out. We are eager to feature various members of this community within future emails and want get to know each other a little better!

You can also access this Member Spotlight form HERE

I am SO excited to join this community and am thoroughly looking forward to getting to know each of you a little better during our live sessions.

p.s. You can watch the full Project Play Date HERE

🧑 Up NEXT!

Our next LIVE SESSION will be Do it Together at 4PM on Wednesday April 12th.

We will be working on our monthly page prompt: Craft a birthday story. Please bring a horizontal 4x6 birthday photo for each person you want to celebrate with this story!

Note from Stacy

IF you are interested in learning and practicing video creation and editing at all, then you’ll definitely want to watch this session on replay.

I’ll be sharing a video montage about an Easter tradition I loveβ€”on Instagram and in our Facebook group.

You can learn more about this video on the replay!
