Seasonal Project: Gift Album & Photo Book Planning

The type of gift album/photo book YOU will create is entirely up to you. Stacy is sharing a reboot she is doing of her Glimpses album ( a 2006 project) and making a three volume set to give to her kids.

This first month we prepared for a season of success! We shared organizational ideas, tips and tricks to create a workflow that allows us to tackle this project in bite sized pieces and to even be able to work in our pockets of free time on our mobile devices.

Tools for Success

• Print off Project Gift Album Map here

• Begin a folder in your notes app or on your computer 📝 for you to keep thoughts and stories you would like to include (these can be copied and pasted directly into the pages you create later)

• Download and familiarize yourself with the following apps

  • Design: Becky Higgins’ Project Life App

  • Design: Canva

  • Printing Option : Chatbooks

Tips for Success

• Include 3 important pages for

  • title

  • dedication

  • intro

• Choose your primary and secondary fonts and write them on your project map

• Note the 3 or 4 font colors you would like to use throughout the project

• If using Becky Higgins Project Life App take advantage of the organizational features included within the app to create favorites and default settings for the layout pages and fonts you would like to use to create easy access.

** the new notes feature in Zoom was mentioned and used by some of those attending the call. We had hoped to include what was shared here in the recap email, but unfortunately we’re still learning how to best use this feature and were unable to access anything that was shared, after the call had ended - hopefully this is something we can use in the future!

I LOVED the sharing that happened during this Project Play Date! Thank you to all who attended. I’m excited about this opportunity to assemble a gift album—for Christmas OR Valentine’s Day 2024. In other words, don’t stress about a deadline, but do START. The only way to make a project like this doable is to do some planning, so that you know what to do with 15 minutes!

I’ve been testing book and font sizes and printing black/white sample pages. I’ve decided on a 6x6 book—I just really like small—but I now know that my font will need to be between 18 and 20 pt to be readable. I’ve added this information to my project map and I’m using the Project Life app to create one spread a day.
