Craft a Birthday Story

During this session of Do It Together, Stacy led everyone in completing the page prompt for the April and we crafted a birthday story! Some of the steps and highlights were:

  • gathering 4x6 and 4x4 photos of any of the special people whom you celebrated birthdays for or want to include on your page.

  • Stacy shared a horizontal layout, intended for a 12x12 page. She showed us the fun combos of breaking the pages into 1/2s or 1/3s (depending on the size of pictures being scrapbooked) as well as small spaces for journaling.

  • β€˜fixing’ any places that may leave open background or strange overlaps with darling embellishments, stickers, scraps and accents.

  • adding small labels to create spots to include details such as: names, birth dates, traditions.

  • ANY variation of the above. The individual interpretation of the project was so fun to see during the little bit of sharing we did at the end of our time together. We even had a few completing this project digitally.

NOTE: Stacy had to dash out of town early Thursday, so her page isn’t quite finished, but here you can see the progress she made during our time together!

The three individual pages below all follow the same horizontal format that I’m encouraging YOU to try when you craft your birthday story. Dividing your foundation into two or three horizontal rows gives you ample, organized room for lots of photos and a title block. Try this format out. It’s easy to layer on details like names and dates OR to add more story with an insert or flap.
