Hey Rock Your Scroll friends!

I hope these daily emails are gentle nudges to engage with this course AND remember what we’re doing and learning together.

In Lesson 1, I introduced you to two kinds of favoriting. First Time Through and Final favorites.

As you work to review and purge your BIG year AND you come across several images taken at the same time and/or for the same reason, you’ll want to tap-to-enlarge your view and then scroll through and quickly assess each individual image—tapping the heart for each one that you want to keep. This is First Time Through favoriting!

Back in the thumbnail view, you can now “Select” and tap-to-delete all images without a 🤍 white heart. Select all the images you need to let go of and tap the 🗑️ trash can at the bottom of your phone screen. These images will disappear—but, they are NOT gone forever!

REMEMBER: Deleted images can be viewed and easily recovered for up to 29 days in the Recently Deleted category inside the Utilities section.

I use First Time Through favoriting all the time, but especially when I’m deleting images that are at least three years old.

In my experience, more recent events and images can be MORE difficult to let go. So, I focus on adding a heart to just one or two from each grouping of photos. I call this Final favorites—even though I will likely need to do more reviewing and deleting in the future.

Final favorites ensure that when I go to the Favorites collection, I am not only seeing the highlights, I am also being reminded of the distinct moments and memories that comprise our recent past.

Final favorites create a beautiful, representative highlights reel to enjoy and continue to work with!

Your task today is to scroll back through December 2024 and favorite 1 or 2 (maybe 3) images from each event, activity or grouping of photos. In other words, take your first stab at a Christmas highlights reel.
