Questions & FUN Look-Back

There were several questions answered during this session of Story Coaching:

Q: Should we favorite photos or create an Album when we have photos we know we want to scrapbook or use in a project?
Short Answer: Favorite a photo so you can find it again in a filtered view or to add tags; Create an Album if you have a specific page or project in mind.

Q: What can we do with the paint chips (that some members have picked up from local home improvement stores) in the Hue & Me colors?
Idea: Use as embellishments on layouts and/or cards. Use for monthly color in One Little Word project. Display to add color to a room.

Q: What do we need to do if our membership is up for renewal?
Answer: Memberships will renew automatically using the credit card on file, so there’s nothing you have to do. You can check the date of your renewal by clicking on Account when you log into the membership. If you need to change from Monthly to Yearly or vice versa, the easiest way is to cancel membership & then renew with the new payment option the day after your membership expires.

Looking Back 10 Years

Stacy and several LYS members also shared pages, projects and photos from 10 years ago!

Looking through scrapbook albums and layouts created 10 years ago brings back lots of memories and emotions.

Our favorite pages and projects are often the ones that allow us to see changes and growth in individuals and relationships.

We appreciate the thoughts and emotions that are captured during a particular time as they allow us to see how those feelings and ideas have changed over time and/or how they contributed to the person we (or others) are today.

For families with young adult children or teenagers, it’s often entertaining and interesting to look back and see what was important and fun to those children ten years ago.

Stacy asked us to contemplate what our 2013 self has to say to our 2023 self … and then to look ahead and wonder what our 2033 self wants our 2023 self to know!
 

LYS Member Spotlight

Lynda King lives with her husband Ron on their farm near Stratford, Ontario, Canada. They have raised 3 sons, have 3 terrific daughters-in-law and 8 (soon to be 9) grandkids. She is a retired registered nurse. She enjoyed an amazing career and now it’s great to have her memory keeping and fiber hobbies to work on in her retirement.

Lynda first met Stacy in Buffalo, New York, at a Creating Keepsakes convention and loved her energy and creativity. She is so happy to reconnect with her through Live Your Story. Lynda says, β€œWhat fun it is to have like-minded women sharing their passion for memory keeping.” She likes the live chats, working along with others, and the great quarterly quotes that she prints out and puts on her computer to memorize.

Lynda has a couple of projects that need her attention right now, but she is really eager to begin work on an Extended Story about her family’s love of music. She hopes to get it done during this year and looks forward to more fun and friendship in our LYS community. There’s always something to learn, and she does love to learn new things. Lynda’s happy to have a tidy kitchen drawer, which she cleaned out and organized during the Do It Together session earlier this month!

A NOTE from Stacy …

The Design Inspired card this month, has encouraged me to pay more attention to our skies. I’m so grateful, because I took photos on clear sky day with cool clouds! I even tried my hand at illustrating them like Chris Judge …

Turns out, this kind of cloud sketching, regardless of how simple, whimsical and imaginative it might look requires more talent than you might initially think πŸ˜‚ Try it and you’ll see!

With clouds on my mind, I took note of a recent newsletter from Brad Montague, titled, You’re in the club. In it, he speaks of belonging and writes the following …

β€œYou’re in. You made it. You’re part of the team. You have a seat at the table. You absolutely, unequivocally, no doubt about it, fully, completely, not making this up, cross my heart, no take backsiesβ€”YOU belong!”

Brad goes on to remind his readers about how many clubs there areβ€”all kinds of clubs that you can join, including a club for cloud lovers!

My point is I love the belonging that we are creating in this club we call Live Your Story and I love the things we learn, do and feel together. Our Story Coaching session this month was a wonderful indication of where we are headedβ€”and I couldn’t be more grateful and excited.
