Printed Photos
 

In our digital world, many of our photo storage systems have wonderfully evolved with easier storage, access and printing options. Currently, many of us only print the photos as needed for projects and pages instead of making and keeping hard copies. However, we still have those older printed photos that need attention and organization. How do we manage these?

As we gathered to share during Story Coaching we discussed these collections of printed photos. We were coached in ways we can remove some of the stress and unrealistic expectations that these may create in our lives, our minds and creative spaces.

Stacy shared that she herself has approximately 1500 printed photos in category files as well as 5 storage binders, and various family boxes that have been entrusted to her. Even if she devoted the majority of her time to these and worked with these pictures everyday, it would not be enough time.

We took this Story Coaching opportunity to check in, reflect and share ideas on how we have handled these in the past and what could be helpful going forward.

Stacy gave 100% permission to throw away pictures that you find you have already printed in scrapbooks and may not fit another category you would like to scrapbook in the future.

Ultimately, the takeaway was that we are curators and story tellers. Our goal is to create connections with our photos not be weighed down with the burden of storing thousands of prints. πŸ’›

Our JUNE Page Prompt is: Document a BIG celebration with a BIG photo.

This is your heads-up to find a photo you can enlarge and use to document the story of an important celebrationβ€”think: birthday, graduation, wedding, retirement etc.. so that you can be ready for our Do It Together on Saturday, June 17.

Above are three pages where I’ve used BIG photosβ€”which are so fun to work with. I will prepare a general design idea and demonstrate some playful techniques. IF you want to play along, now’s the time to select and print your picture!
