Our March Writing Prompt is “Describe what YOU look like, sound like
and how you dress.”

Hello!

Tomorrow, as you know is our Do It Together for March and we will be working with our Writing Prompt to describe our physical appearance. My guess is that this may be an uncomfortable exercise for many of us, but let’s do it anyway!

These are my 3 photos. Please select and depending on your format for documenting, print a little, middle and recent photo of YOU!

How to Prepare

I will come with questions to guide you in selecting words and crafting sentences and we’ll write head to toe style.

As you think about this task, I invite you to think of your mother, grandmother or perhaps an aunt or teacher/mentor you love—someone you know is imperfect, but nonetheless absolutely beautiful. Think of this person and practice describing her hair, eyes, skin, facial expressions and her hands, shape, movement and energy. What kinds of words would you use to verbally “paint” her in the best light possible? Now imagine someone who loves you and will rejoice in a first-person account of your appearance—with photos of course!
