Workflow Questions

We started with a couple workflow questions from our Live Your Story community members. πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Karen asked how to set up a folder that includes individual albums for further organization. For example: photos of a trip to Europe can be separated into albums for London, Paris, and Rome within a Europe folder. Stacy demonstrated this on both her Computer and iPhone.

** remember when you are setting up albums in your digital library, you're not moving them. You're just creating a view. You're telling your phone what pictures you want to view when you click on an album.

Raewyn asked if Stacy was going to specifically address the questions she included in her WWW email. Stacy gladly shared that these are questions she wants you to think about often as you consider what you’re currently doing with your workflow. These are great questions to go back to again and again.

1. What do you want to be able to do with your digital images this year?

2. What do you want to be able to do with your well managed images in 5 years?

3. What do you want to be able to do with your image library in 10 years?

4. Ultimately, in terms of your collection of digital media, what do you want to pass on to the next generation?

Stacy shared that if you don’t consistently revisit these questions, then you will not know what kind of workflow to set up, especially If you’re wanting to tackle a really big project like a parent’s 50th wedding anniversary or a graduation.

And Finally, Ginger asked Stacy to demonstrated how to make Smart Albums. The Smart Album feature for Apple Photos can only be accomplished on a computer and isn’t possible to create or view on an iPhone. By setting your desired search parameters, you can narrow groups of photos down with very specific search criteria like dates and times the photo was taken and even by keywords, or emojis you add/include in the image’s metadata when labeling and adding descriptions to your digital photos. This is an amazing feature!

Photo Markers

Then Stacy shared how to create and use digital marker! These can be created in many different ways, but she uses the Rhonna Designs app. This app allows you to create simple and effective digital markers that you can place (by changing the metadata of the image) at the beginning of a series of specific photos, whether it be by person, date or event. You will definitely want to watch and rewatch her demonstrating using this app, the possibilities are endless!
