1. Scour your kitchen sink (really good.)
2. Put a spitz shine on the hallway mirror or a glass door.
3. Dust something really well, as in get underneath and on top too! OR, do any other such task that you know needs to be done. Why not do the thing that when you walk by, you think, "Ugh. I've got to do that!" And, here's why: Cleaning something gives us a tangible result. Results feel good and increase our sense of accomplishment. Cleaning up our external world (even a smidgen of it) helps to clean up our psyche. Doing something useful—but mindless—is mental rest. Cleaning is mood-boosting movement. Intentionally turning toward something that you could easily avoid, sends a reaffirming internal message that you are competent and caring.
Have you ever heard the saying, "The state of your bed is the state of your head"? I believe it. How you perceive your environment is ultimately how your perceive yourself. When you like who you are, you will automatically prioritize activities that you love and need to be well. 15 minutes of cleaning today is very likely to buy you some creative time. 🧡 ENJOY.
