This Wonderful World of Workflow focused on the large and small conveniences of our lives and how they show up in our photos in order to help us spend time with and work through our photo libraries (always the goal!)

Stacy presented us with the task of listing our top 3 “modern conveniences." The lists ranged from small to large conveniences with the most commonly mentioned conveniences being plumbing, refrigeration, and indoor heating and cooling. There were other mentions of inventions from our time like microwaves and iPhones and these all led to some fun retelling of memories around these items. Stacy shared her screen and showed us how she work-flowed using this fun prompt, finding images she otherwise may not have focused on. Members looked up their conveniences in their libraries and found, sometimes, hundreds of photos of fridges, toilets, or blenders. This WWW gives us a chance to focus in on these photos and how they actually contribute to our stories!

Stacy leaves us with the challenge to take a photo with a modern convenience that you don’t already have captured in your library and go ahead and stylize it if you’d like! Make it fun 😊

Also, member Heather B reminded me of a powerful gratitude practice that relates to our effort with recognizing modern conveniences—OR—anything you’re grateful for. It’s this: Gratefully acknowledge what you have, need, use and appreciate. Make a list. Now, imagine NOT having and enjoying whatever you failed to acknowledge. Forgot to list that toilet, then tomorrow it will be gone—yikes!
