Documenting an Important Place

As we settle into the middle month of our Summer 🌻 Season we gathered to work on a layout Stacy shared for documenting a place you hold dear with at least 10 photos.

Some of the members of our LYS Community shared their important places which included favorite theme parks, a travel destination, a restaurant, a current home, a garden… the possibilities are limitless.

Look at this gorgeous page that Carla Sylvester designed and dedicated to Central Park. She posted it to our private Facebook group, where you’ll find other members pages as well!

Stacy’s Process & Page

Stacy prepared a sketch that many used or adapted. For her demonstration, she adapted this design to the orientation of the pictures she was using to document her childhood home. 🏑
 

Sometimes our old photos, can seem dull and brown, but that is why we scrapbook! We can give them new life with our colorful layouts and memories.

Using additional photos from her PLACES category file, Stacy wanted to build on this page. She used color and some other adjustments to β€œextend” this story!

Where there was one 12x12 page in her Places/Home album, there are now three 12x12 pages and a pocket-page insert.

From Stacy: After our session yesterday I let myself linger in the past and it was so fun and rewarding! Memories associated with familiar places are easily accessed because of the imprint created in our minds, but those memories will be lost IF we don’t record them. Please give yourself time to write and include journaling on your pages as often as you can. Your words truly matter!
