Happy Friday Rock Your Scroll Friends,

Today is January 24th—even though yesterday’s email was titled RYS 📲 January 24 (😬 Oops!) If you don’t know me well already, then you’ll soon learn that attention to detail is not my strength!

Today, at the end of our first week together, my question for you is this: How are YOU deleting? The answer should be the same for ALL and EACH of us. In this course and for the foreseeable future, we take a 3-part approach to keeping our digital libraries tidy.

How are YOU Deleting?

3-Step PLAN to PURGE

We work backwards from today (always) in reviewing, purging (🗑️) and prioritizing (🤍) the most recent year—which right now is 2024.
We are always working on another past year as well—a BIG year—with lots of images taken on trips or at big events. My current BIG year is 2015. In yesterday’s LIVE Q&A we talked about how to select your BIG year. You can watch the replay of that session in our Rock Your Scroll classroom!
We also do a FUN search & delete on the daily—for just a few quick minutes. This is where you use the 🔎 tool in Photos to bring up a bunch of images (we’ve done hugging and handwriting this week) OR you can search the date, without a year. Today (as mentioned above) is January 24th, so you would search “January 24” in Photos and then review to purge (🗑️) and prioritize (🤍)

📲 You will NOT be perfect at this, but you now have a PLAN to PURGE and you might recognize those two words as the first two principle of Photo Freedom!

This means you DO NOT get to say—ever again— “I don’t know where to start! I’m so overwhelmed!”

Your assignment this weekend is to make sure you have a Start Here image in place. This image is included with the Home Screens download on the resources page of our classroom.

I demonstrated downloading, saving and placing this image into your digital library during our LIVE Q&A session on Wednesday.
