3-2-1 Backup
 

We sure loved getting to see so many of you at our first session of this month of March πŸ€ β€” Wonderful World of Workflow.

We began with a discussion on backing up our photos and stories by following the 3-2-1 back up strategy. This means: THREE copies of photos (and other important data), TWO back up copies on difference devices and Stacy recommends ONE cloud-based archive and ONE external device.

It’s ideal to have a backup that's in the cloudβ€”accessible online and stored on someone else's massive and super secure servers like iCloud, a Dropbox, or Google Drive. These are what Stacy likes to think of as an archive of your content. It’s offsite, in a location not in your home or on your actual device.

Next is having a copy of the photos on accessible hard drives in your possession. Your computers hard drive/external hard drive/storage keys, etc.
 

Story Archiving & Indexing
 

Next we discussed ways to keep track of the pages and albums in your library so they can be easily accessed by you and loved ones.

Whether you use a system you’ve created all on our own, a spreadsheet or an organization application like Scrivener, it can be helpful as your library grows and discover it increasingly difficult to locate specific stories you’ve documented.

Indexing can begin as you start the backup process to archive your content, by having a naming system in place, like the one Stacy created for Photo Freedom. You can access her Naming and Archive Worksheet here.
