You’ve Been Egged!

Years ago, like back in 2014, someone rang our doorbell and when we opened the door, we found a rolled up piece of paper on the welcome mat. Unrolled, this paper directed us to look for a dozen plastic Easter eggs hidden near our front porch. It read, “You’ve Been Egged” and went on to explain that eleven of these eggs would contain candy treats, but one would be empty as a reminder of Jesus Christ’s resurrection and the empty tomb.

Such a FUN idea, right?

This year we have two new-ish neighbors, with little children (and I miss little children) so I thought it would be FUN to ‘egg’ them. The challenge: I vaguely remember the words in the scroll as rhyming, but I searched online and didn’t find much, so I decided to ask ChapGPT to write me a poem! In 30 seconds, I had this …

Super impressive rhyming verse—right? And so EASY! I opened Canva, designed a flyer and printed two copies. Since I want to keep track of this for future years, I’m posting here to my blog—but I’ll pin it too, so others can discover and use it.

I hope your Easter preparations, celebrations and worship are filled with gratitude and JOY!
