Friday FIVE for 5.15.20

I’ve discovered a few things of late that I would like to share with you via a Friday FIVE. I love it when you comment and tell me whether or not you’re familiar with or have used or already love these things!

ONE. Tumeric Ginger Latte

Not even sure I how came to discover this slightly sweet, caffeine-free “golden milk” but YUM. I think it may have popped up as a suggested item on Amazon and now just one package later I’m considering a subscription—it’s that good. I have only tried the Karma Kafe brand of Turmeric Ginger Latte so perhaps I should shop around a little, but then nah. I’m good. I really like this as an afternoon respite with some dark chocolate—primarily as a plan to forgo my after dinner chocolate fix, thus allowing my digestion to rest for 12 to 14 hours before I break-my-fast!

I drink primarily water during the day, but now that we’re headed in summer I need to replace my warm drink with something a bit more refreshing.

What’s your favorite summer sit-and-read drink to sip through a glass straw?

TWO. The English Game

Geoff and I LOVED this new Netflix drama by Julian Fellows. There are only six episodes—so it’s a quick watch—but it tells a fascinating and (mostly) historically accurate story about the development of modern football leagues in England. And, once you’ve watched The English Game you might want to know a bit more about the real Arthur Kinnaird and Fergus Suter.

THREE. Tiny Humans Read

I’m super excited about my gift for my daughter-in-law, Lauren on her 1st Mother’s Day. I’ve subscribed (just for 3 months initially) to Tiny Humans Read.

Of course I can’t really write a proper review yet, but from what I can tell so far, I’m impressed. What a FUN way to introduce beautiful board books to a young human.

FOUR. This Book by Jason B. Rosenthal

If you’ve known me for a while, you might remember a class that Cathy Zielske taught at Big Picture Classes—years ago. She based this Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life scrapbook project/class on a book by the same name, authored by Amy Krouse Rosenthal.

In a very sad turn of events, Amy passed away from Ovarian cancer in 2017. Before she did, she wrote an article for The New York Time in March, 2017 with the hope that her husband, Jason would be able to find love again. Since this time, Jason has given a TED talk and recently written his side of their love story.

I picked up my copy at Costco and can’t wait to dive in!

FIVE. Skinny Dipped Almonds

Stop reading RIGH NOW and click here: Dark Chocolate Raspberry because if you haven’t yet, you seriously need to try these delicious “Skinnydipped” almonds. I’m a fiend for raspberry and therefore picked these up at the grocery store for fun. I ripped them open in the car on the way home and couldn’t wait to share them with my kids and hubby. When I hoped on Amazon to order more, I discovered the most cost effective way to serve my new craving would be to purchase a BIG case with raspberry and Lemon Bliss and all I can say now is go. As in NOW.

You can thank me later!
