Chase Day | 6.17

Chase has worked at both Safeway (now Yokes) and Walgreens in Liberty Lake, where we live. I shop at both places regularly and when I'm checking out, I'm often asked,  "How is Chase?" In fact it isn't just the store employees, but others who shop that will say, "I sure miss Chase at Walgreens, he was always so happy to see me!" Wherever he goes, Chase creates lasting friendships and people often comment on how happy or kind he is (was) and how they miss him. Is there anything better for a mom to hear? I don't think so!

One of the best things in Chase's life right now isn't a thing actually, but a GIRL! Her name is Kiara Tolman and it's Facebook official ... Chase and Kiara have been dating for 3 months-ish and we think this is a pretty awesome thing. At the very least, they are having a super fun time together. I have such fond memories of spring and summer semesters in college. The weather is yummy, the class load a little less daunting and there are opportunities for fun and exploration around every corner. This is especially true in Rexburg, Idaho which appears to be in the middle of nowhere, until summer comes, and AWESOME outdoor recreation is within a day's drive in multiple directions!

Yes, bears go pee pee too! 🐻

At this point, Chase seems to be my child that has taken most to the idea of documenting life. He is so good at sending me text and SnapChat updates, which I get a few times a week. He takes great photos and has a natural eye for composition, which of course makes me very happy! The other day, he and Kiara visited Yellowstone Bear World in Idaho. He sent me multiple pictures with details or funny captions. My favorite was the big brown bear taking a leak on the side of the road—a Chase shot for sure, ha! I'm watching my boys mature into great men, but there are some 'little boy' things that they don't seem to outgrow, and that's ok with me!  ❤️ LOVE this boy.
